The two men are members of the Elk County Tea Party. They say the gun demonstration is just part of a bigger movement to teach people about the constitution and how it says our country should be run.
Bill Bullers has had a permit to carry a gun since the 60’s. More than just a legal right, he says it’s a just a good idea, because you never know when you might need it. He and Blaise Dornisch listened to speakers from around the country.
Dornisch says rallies like this not only remind people of their rights guaranteed them in the constitution, but also helps keep those rights in place. He says if you don’t exercise you’re rights, you will lose them.
Bullers says he doesn’t know if their rallies will change any politician’s mind, but that’s not going to stop him because it is the right thing to do.
And in Ebensburg the Borough Council voted unanimously to allow people to carry firearms in Ebensburg parks. That was illegal before, but a local man pointed out that state law says the borough can't do that. And after looking it over the borough solicitor agreed.
