HOLLIDAYSBURG - Several seniors from Hollidaysburg Area High School grabbed some shovels on Monday morning and dug in to give back to the community and plant some trees.

The Hollidaysburg Borough bought nine trees through  a state grant.  The  tree-vitalize activity helps the students earn credits for volunteering, needed to graduate.

A borough officias said the trees are two species of Maples that haven't been planted in Hollidaysburg recently.

Another tree-planting opportunity is set for May 8th at Legion Park.
