INDIANA, INDIANA COUNTY - A jury will decide whether a local man should die for murdering a baby. The penalty phase started Monday morning in Indiana County.

The same jurors last week found Joshua Turner guilty of beating a 19-month-old boy to death.

The 20-year-old Cambria County man is facing execution. His attorneys said that option should be taken off the table because Turner has a low IQ.

The jury has only two options: the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

Turner was convicted of first-degree murder for the October, 2008 death of his ex-girlfriend's child. A coroner's report and photographs showed bite marks, bruises, and signs of strangulation on the baby's body.

Comments

Low IQ or not, he still knew the diffrence between right and wrong. I know many people with lower IQs' and they don't kill babys. I say let him die,why pay for him to sit. Let the money go to something usefull.
