ALTOONA - On Wednesday, April 21st, on the eve of Earth Day, local people brought 8 tons of paper to the WTAJ-TV station to be shredded.

In 14 hours on Wednesday, the Burgmeier Shredding truck chewed through about 16,000 pounds of paper in the parking lot of the WTAJ-TV station on 6th Ave. in Altoona.

This year's event brought in more paper than last years.

WTAJ-TV is planning other shredding events throughout Central Pennsylvania.  CLICK HERE for more information and to see when and where those Free Shredding Events will be.
