HASTINGS, PA--- The Northern Cambria Business Community donated $9,000 to Miners Medical Center on Tuesday.
This is the second donation local businesses in the area have donated to the hospital over the past 18 months; all together the hospital has received more than $21,000.
Officials say without private funding it would be difficult to fund certain items the hospital needs.
“This is our community working together to make sure that we're able to provide the quality care that they're used to and that we need to provide to support our area,” said Miners Hospital President Bill Crowe.
The money will go towards buying five new crash cart systems that the hospital needs. Crowe said the ones they have now are outdate and have been around since the hospital first opened more than ten years ago.
