Democrats in the State House and Senate are asking Attorney General Tom Corbett to not join in the lawsuit against the new healthcare reform law.
It appears it's too late though as Corbett already joined 13 other states across the country in that suit. It was filed Tuesday in Florida federal court challenging the constitutionality of the new health care reform legislation.
Wednesday in Harrisburg, several state lawmakers spoke out against this move saying it's strictly a political partisan ploy.
As Senator Daylin Leach from Delaware and Montgomery Counties says, "We believe it is inappropriate for the Attorney General to use taxpayer money to fight to deny critcial resources to the taxpayers of Pennsylvania. Attorney General Corbett's lawsuit, if successful will cost the people of Pennsylvania billions of dollars over the next few years."
Democrats say this lawsuit will help Corbett's political career in his run for Governor on the Republican ticket at the expense of taxpayers.
