Local Airports Get $ for Improvements

HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY-- Airports across the Commonwealth will benefit from a new round of state and federal funds.

Several facilities in our area are set to share in the nearly $14-million set aside for improvements, including:

University Park Airport, $562,500, to install new equipment in the air traffic control tower.

Clearfield-Lawrence Airport, $48,750, to fix a runway.

St. Marys Municipal Airport, $195,000, for work on a runway.

Indiana County-Jimmy Stewart Airport, $790,125, to build a new runway.

Punxsutawney Municipal Airport, $195,000, to fix a runway.

Somerset County Airport, $126, 750, to upgrade its taxiway.
