Richland Township- Cambria County The people behind the multi million dollar project say the expansion should clear the way for several new companies interested in moving into the Greater Johnstown Area. This industrial park expansion is all about creating the space and facilities needed for the jobs of the future. Cambria County business leaders say by investing millions of dollars now, they will clear the way for plenty of new companies to move into the region. Based on the large companies and buildings that have already moved into the Johnstown Business park, operators of the facility say its time for big expansion. They point to the companies and the jobs that have already moved into Cambria County because industrial ready sites were prepared and ready when companies expressed and interest. To make the way for those other business, this Johnstown business park is being expanded by 92 acres. It took several years of work and an investment of nearly five million dollars, but the people behind the project says this is one more step in the economic renaissance of the Greater Johnstown area. The next step is to run water, sewer, utility access and new roads to those nine large development sites. Will all be built as part of the project. When the work is done, nine large business sites will be available. The people who have provided the funds for the industrial park expansion say this should be one more step away from the regions coal and steel heritage with new jobs developing in office, high-tech, warehouse/distribution or defence manufacturing facilities. The new industrial park sites are expected to be ready for new business tenants by october of this year.
