HOLLIDAYSBURG, BLAIR COUNTY - Chronic Wasting disease has officially been spotted in our area.

A new report from the Pennsylvania Game Commission says three deer have tested positive for the disease. Two came from Blair County and the third came from Bedford County.

Chronic Wasting Disease is a degenerative brain disease that passes from animal to animal. So the game commission is eager to find out just where the deer were killed.

So far there is no evidence the disease can be spread to humans. There is no known treatment or vaccine.
