Bars Receive Subsidy to Not Serve Alcohol

The reported agreement says downtown taverns and restaurants will be paid a $5,000 subsidy for lost revenue in exchange for halting the sale of alcohol on February 23rd, the day of State Patty's this year.
These establishments will still offer food and non-alcoholic drinks, but will remain "alcohol-free zones" Saturday.
