Reward Offered in Fatal Hit and Run

PATTON TWP., CENTRE COUNTY - Centre County CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that may lead to an arrest in the fatal hit and run accident last week.

State Police at Rockview are continuing their investigation into the hit and run crash that killed 32-year-old Sherry Houtz of Bellefonte early Tuesday morning.

According to police the crash happened between 3:45 and 4:03 a.m. Tuesday. Houtz was walking along I-99 southbound just past the Woodycrest/Toftrees exit near State College when an unknown vehicle struck her.

State police say they believe the vehicle involved may be a passenger car or small pick-up. At this time there is no make/model or color information.

The vehicle may have damage to the passenger side from the front corner along the passenger side and roof area.

State Police at Rockview are asking anyone who was in that area around the time of the accident to give them a call at (814) 355-7545.
