The CDC says about 174,000 kids are treated in emergency rooms every year for concussions related to sports.

Now Tyrone Hospital and the Tyrone Area School District are  teaming up to offer the latest concussion information to parents, coaches and medical personnel.

They're co-sponsoring free concussion symposiums Wednesday,  February 13th at the elementary and middle schools. Members of a team of  concussion experts from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Sports Medicine Concussion will present the information sessions. One is for parents, coaches and athletic trainers.  The other is for medical professionals.

You must register.  Registration forms are available on the Tyrone Hospital Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/tyrone hospital  and on the Tyrone Hospital website at www.tyronehospital.org.  For more information contact Tyrone Hospital at (814) 684-1255 extension 1302.
