TYRONE, BLAIR COUNTY - Police say they had to taser a Blair County man after his father-in-law hit him in the head with the butt of a rifle.

State Police say David Earl Harris Junior broke into his in-laws house in Tyrone and assaulted his wife with a hunting knife just before midnight Sunday. She was staying with her parents because of a fight with Harris. She wasn't seriously hurt; her father hit David Harris in the face with the butt of a rifle.

Even after that police say they had to use a taser on him to arrest him. Harris now faces charges of Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and Resisting Arrest.

I have known Davie for several years. As a matter of fact, the first time I met Davie was when my Husband and I got married. Davie was about 2 1/2 - 3yrs old. Davie was carrying around this bible with a picture of god and he would always point to it and say my husband%u2019s name. He is was always a good kid and was always willing to offer a helping hand. A few years ago my daughter Tiffany was running in Demolition derby and wasn't able to get her car to start when I mentioned to her about calling Davie. She called Davie and he made sure he came over and did his best until they got the car started so she could run later that night in the derby. He is such a generous young man who wouldn't hurt anyone. When I saw this my heart knew this wasn%u2019t the Davie I always knew and that something serious must be going on. Davie must have a lot of things going on that no one knows about for him to resort to such an extreme measure. God bless Davie and his family. They are all in my prayers during this tough time.

I have know Davie and his family for many years.. I would have never expected this to happen. I was actually shoked when I read this. He was also such a nice person and would do anything for anyone. He was a great family man and enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was taking them to the lake or sitting at home. I agree with you Cherie, Davie is such a hard working man and is dealing with a lot. He just doesn't know how to handle it all. Prayers are being sent to you all<3

This has me shocked. I agree Dave is a good man who comes from a good family. He works hard to provide for his family.

Not trying to justify what this young man did was right. But he's a good kid that comes from a good family! Will keep him in prayer so he gets his issues addressed and thank GOD that nobody was hurt!!
