An area hospital modified its visiting guidelines today  because of the flu. Effective immediately at Altoona Regional Health System , all visitors must be at least 18 years old and a member of the patient's immediate family or a caregiver .

Only two visitors at a time are permitted at a patient's bedside, although exemptions can be made in critical cases. Anyone visiting the maternity ward must  also wear a surgical mask,  provided by the hospital.

As always, if you have symptoms of a cold or the flu, don't visit patients.
