Jeans & Teams Set to Help Those in Need

By: Carolyn Donaldson
Updated: January 8, 2013
ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY --United Way of Blair County is teaming up with local businesses and agencies to sponsor the second annual "Jeans & Teams Day" on Friday, January 11, 2013.  Last year, 45 businesses raised over $7,000 for Blair County residents through this event.

Blair County businesses and agencies are encouraged to allow employees to dress in jeans and team apparel in exchange for a $5 donation. Businesses and agencies that are unable to participate on January 11th are invited to choose another date in January to hold their "Jeans & Teams" day.

Contributions raised by this special event will support the 2012-2013 United Way of Blair County Annual Campaign.  Campaign proceeds are granted annually, through a competitive review process, to non-profit agencies to help fund programs they operate in Blair County that address the needs of our community.
