New numbers are out on West Nile cases and they're not good.
 .
The Centers for Disease Control says West Nile cases have risen sharply,  up 40%  from last week alone. This year there are nearly 2,000 new cases and 66 deaths.

More than 70% of the cases have been reported from six states (Texas, South Dakota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Michigan) and more than 45% of all cases have been reported from Texas,

The CDC website shows 733 cases so far in Texas, twelve in Pennsylvania.
Experts blame the hot dry weather.
