A new vaccine could help smokers quit for good. Researchers in New York tested the vaccine on mice and found a single dose protects against nicotine addiction for an entire lifetime.

The vaccine introduces antibodies that attack the nicotine before it reaches the brain or heart. It needs a few more rounds of animal tests before  it can be tested on people. The study is in the journal, Science Translational Medicine.
