The FDA has approved generic versions of the blood thinning drug Plavix. It helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke by preventing clots. Plavix is prescribed for patients who've had a recent heart attack or stroke, or who have artery blockages in the legs.
Generic versions of Plavix are expected to cost a lot less than the brand name pills, which can run around $200 a month.
