SOMERSET, SOMERSET COUNTY - The Daily American has a new partnership with the Altoona Mirror.

The Somerset County paper has decided to partner with the Blair County newspaper for its printing needs.

The press machine at The Daily American was old and needed to be replaced.

The general manager says they print over 12,000 papers a day, and it was not feasible to replace the old press.

However the partnership has forced the paper to cut nine full time and nine part time employees.

The Daily American will begin printing at the Mirror in about two weeks.
