PUNXSUTAWNEY, JEFFERSON COUNTY - It is estimated to be the largest crowd ever at Gobbler's Knob with 34,000 people standing on the hill.

People say they came because it was finally on a Saturday. Others say, it was on their bucket list.

The brisk 8 degrees did not seem to stop anyone in the crowd of people from Texas...

" It was great. The perfect weekend to fly up" said Natasha Leyton.

Viginia...

"It is something I have always wanted to do so this year we bit the bullet and did it" said The Huffs.

One man made his way from Ukraine saying he wanted to be here because of the movie and he is proud he made it.

There is a special breed of people that make their way to Gobbler's Knob and they are the Groundhog Day Babies.

Scott Carey turned 50 and said with the event landing on a Saturday there was nothing else he wanted to do and nowhere else he wanted to be.

Eight year old Bayne Mallory was excited to finally spend his birthday with Phil.

He was born just 1 pound 10 ounces and his family never thought he would be a Groundhog Day baby. They call him their "Groundhog Day Surprise". He must have a connection to the Groundhog.

Bayne said he predicted Phil would predict an early Spring and what do you know - Bayne was right.
