PA Unemployment Rate 7.9%

HARRISBURG, DAULPHIN COUNTY - The number of Pennsylvanians out of a job rose above the national rate last month.

That's according to the figures released by the Department of Labor and Industry.

The unemployment rate reached 7.9% in December that is up 0.1% from the figures released in November. 

The national rate of unemployment for December was 7.8%. 

The figures show that Pennsylvania lost more than 24,000 jobs between November and December.
