Donate a Canned Good and Ride CATA for Free!

By: Carolyn Donaldson
Updated: December 4, 2012
STATE COLLEGE, Centre County -- The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA), in partnership with the State College and Bellefonte Food Banks, will sponsor a "Food for Fare" canned food drive on Wednesday, December 5, and Thursday, December 6, during which those riders donating a canned (or other non-perishable) food item when they board the bus will ride fare-free for that trip.
(One item = one one-way trip)

All proceeds benefit the local food banks and their food distribution activities for those less fortunate this holiday season. (Riders are reminded that all donations should be within any expiration dates and containers should not be heavily dented.)

In addition to this event, both CATA offices will act as Toys for Tots drop-off locations now through Monday, December 17, for the collection of new unwrapped toys for those children in need this holiday season.

For additional information, please contact CATA.
