Pa Hospital Infections Down

By: Charlotte Ames
Updated: November 29, 2012
You're less likely to get an infection while you're being treated in a Pennsylvania hospital. That's the finding of  a new report by the State Health Department.

The survey shows that the number and rate of hospital-based infections dropped by more than three-percent last year in Pennsylvania. The report looked at urinary tract infections related to the use of catheters, blood stream infections and six types of surgical site infections.

The 2011 report, along with a question and answer document, is included on the State Health Department's web site.
