Loneliness Can Kill

Researchers in San Francisco asked more than a thousand seniors if they felt "left out" or isolated. Nearly half responded that they felt lonely.
The study found six years later, those who were lonely were at an increased risk of death. They were also more likely to have trouble performing daily activities such as climbing stairs.
