Tammy Hock's been an X-ray technician for 29 years. Two-and-a-half years ago, she started Digital Mobile X-Ray, which performs X-rays, echocardiograms, ultrasounds, EKGs and vascular studies in homes and facilities such as nursing homes.
She and her X-ray technicians are headquartered in the Altoona area, but cover a 50 mile radius . "It's very easy," she says. "Weve gone everywhere. We've gone up steps 20 steps. It doesn't matter. We can find a way to get the machine into the home ."
You can have your X-ray sitting at your own kitchen table. Tammy just puts the plate behind you, sets the parameters and pushes the button. Than she takes the information to her office, digitizes it and sends it to a radiologist. She says the results can be at your doctor's office in about an hour.
Digital Mobile X-ray is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can usually arrive at your house within an hour after being called.
