Some area physical therapy clinics/gyms offer a fitness program for people whose medical conditions may keep them from exercising.

At Allegheny Chesapeake Physical Therapy, with local offices in Johnstown, Ebensburg, Northern Cambria and Portage, people who are overweight, have osteoarthritis, or diabetes can join the Dr. Steve Health Plan.  For a fee of $10 a month, they can have an exercise program developed for them and then use the gym equipment at Allegheny Chesapeake's clinics.

Dr. Steve Gough, the CEO of the company says by focusing on chronic illnesses like obesity, diabetes, and osteoarthritis, you can have a huge effect on people's health.

He says he's trying to "change the healthcare crisis by doing one person at a time.
