Kim Capenos began this "Sing,Dance, Wiggle and Giggle" program in Blair County after her own autistic daughter found her way to communicate best through song and music.
The importance is to get up and move and wiggle and be a kid with your kid, according to Campenos. She adds it's also important "To sing! I always tell people all the time. I know I don't have a fabulous voice but to my kids I know I sound fabulous."
Kim collected instruments from around the world, some hula hoops, scarves and lots of different types of music and brings this hour of fun twice a week to Blair County families.
It's a great way for parents to interact with their kids and they get to have fun.
We have quite a few dads who come - which is exciting - it gives them a chance to be silly which the kids don't get to see all the time.
Kim says music is key to getting the kids to move and that's something for life.
"Whatever it is it stimulates that part of the brain. Everybody loves it. Just sing, sing and have a good time with your kids, " Capenos adds.
Kim Campenos' program in Blair County takes place two times a week at First Presbyterian Church in Hollidaysburg, Blair County.
Sing, play instruments, dance, fingerplays, & parachute fun. $5.00 per family.
