6th grade teacher Steve Traino knows.
"Day in and day out, it's tough - especially the middle school age kids - cause they do interesting things with food."
Before these kids got their summer break, they took part in this taste testing program for next year's breakfast and lunch menus.
According to Foodservice Director Adrienne Bilek, "We want to make sure before we put that on the menu that it's something that they are going to like - enjoy and it's going to fuel their body for a healthy day."
They sampled some of the newer healthier products that the state and federal governments are strongly recommending for healthier eating.
Bilek says, "Give them the opportunity to try things and get them to buy into the healthier lifestyle."
And these taste testers gave most things a thumbs up.
