Take a look at a growing gymnastics program in Blair County.
Over 300 gymnasts competed recently at LTD Gymnastics Academy in Altoona.
For owner and coach Dawn Litzinger it's all about helping a young person excel.
"Our mission is to help these kids be the best that they can be individually."
An activity like Gymnastics helps not only the body. As Litzinger explains, "Strong body, strong mind. I know that's true from my own experience and with these kids that I have. These gymnasts are dedicated and focused."
And gymnast and daughter Preslee agrees. "If you know that you can go crazy flips and stuff, then you know that you can be good in school."
These guys may look like they have all the moves, but it didn't start that way.
"Most of these kids started out not being able to do much, but it's that dedication and wanting to do it , I think you can do anything you want to do."
And Dawn adds starting into a sport like Gymnastics at a young age can become a Fit Kid for life. "If a child learns this early on to not only eat right but be physically active it's going to be a natural part of their life."
