STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY -- Make it a healthy day for the whole family this Saturday at State College's YMCA's Healthy Kids day.
"We're just looking to get kids really inspired especially with issues," says Program director Dan McKenna.
This Y initiative is twenty years old this year and each Y takes a different approach.
McKenna says, "It shouldn't be exercise. It should just be havin fun playing, and hopefully that becomes contagious, and it's something they can continue to do for the rest of their lives."
Mc Kenna's planning an underwater egg hunt for all age groups, a bounce house and obstacle course.
He adds, "We're doing a bike rodeo on our inline hockey rink, weather permitting."
There's even family bike rides planned on a 1/2 mile loop.
As McKenna says, "It's all about planting a seed and giving people ideas that they can do together."
Saturday's event is open to the whole community. You don't need to be a Y member to put play in your day this Saturday.
