VITA is a joint initiative between the United Way of Blair County and the IRS. It provides free income tax assistance to low-to-moderate income people who need help preparing their tax returns. Qualifying families must make $51,000 or less, while qualifying individuals must make less than $45,000 annually.
This is the fourth year VITA has been offered to Blair County Residents.
Assistance is available, by appointment only, every Wednesday between the hours of 5:30 p.m and 8:30 p.m. from now until April 10th. Appointments will be at the United Way of Blair County Building (5414 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602).
