Temperatures spiked in the 40s and 50s today as milder air flowed in from the southwest. Winds will increase during the overnight hours and turn to westerly as the first of several cold fronts push through. Temperatures will peak in the low to mid 30s for many communities Sunday before the colder air takes hold, by the afternoon many will see temperatures in the low to mid 20s.
There will be periods of snow Sunday, with a trace-2" possible along and west of I-99. More snow will fall Monday as another system moves through with much of the viewing area seeing snow. High temperatures Monday will be in the mid and upper 20s.
Monday night/Tuesday morning through Thursday morning will be the coldest period of the coming week, with lows around 10 and highs in the upper teens and low 20s. Wind chill during this stretch will be below zero for many locations.
