Bats for Kids Class

Dawn interviewed Heidi Mullendore from Canoe Creek State Park about a class that's being held this weekend to teach children all about bats in Pennsylvania. Canoe Creek State Park is very famous for it's bat population. Heidi discusses that and also talked about what the kids can expect if they sign up for the class this weekend. Instructors will read the children books about bats, show them a bat skeleton, teach them how bats survive in the wild. They will also make their own bat skeleton, using paper, toothpicks and glue. This will help them learn about the shape of bat wings and the bones that are in them!
If your child would like to sign up for this class, it will be held Saturday January 7th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Wentz Education Center Classroom. The cost is $3 per child, ages 6 and up. You must sign up for this class online, on the park website.
