Bus Collides With House

BIG RUN, JEFFERSON COUNTY - Emergency crews responded Friday evening to a school bus that struck a utility pole and several objects including a home on the 200 block of Main Street in Big Run. Police have said the accident was not weather-related.

The bus was traveling from Punxsutawney at the time of the accident. The driver was reported to be unconscious, but regained consciousness by the time emergency crews arrived.

There were three children and one aide on the bus at the time of the accident, all were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

State Police are investigating the accident. Main Street in Big Run remains closed as of 4 p.m.
