Clouds will be sparse for most of the day, but the wind will not. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph could be seen, especially along ridges as warmer air moves into the region. Temperatures will reach into the low 40s for many communities, but some valley locations could see the warmer air trap cooler air in the valley. Clouds will increase in the afternoon ahead of a strong cold front that will pass through during the overnight hours Saturday into Sunday.

That front will bring scattered snow and colder air to the region for Sunday. Temperatures will only reach into the upper 20s and low 30s for Sunday, and only reaching into the 20s for Monday. This is the start of a colder period with periods of snow.

Right now it appears the coldest nights this week will be Monday and Tuesday, where temperatures will fall into the low teens and single digits across the region. Wind chills during that time could easily fall below zero.

As we go into the latter half of the week, temperatures will stay below seasonal with occasional snow, but there will be some cold nights when the clouds are sparse. Heading towards next weekend temperatures will slowly climb as the possibility of rain and snow returns.
