Mike Passanini from the Altoona Curve visits Central PA Live with the Curve's newest mascot "Tenacious" to talk about the upcoming National Anthem auditions and a concert The Curve is bringing to Central PA.

Dawn also talks about judging the show with a panel of local celebrities, including WTAJ Sports Reporter Sara Eckert.

Interested in Auditioning?  Here's the info:

The Altoona Curve will hold its annual performer tryouts from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 21st in the JCPenney Court at the Logan Valley Mall in Altoona. Individuals or groups that are interested in singing the national anthem, "God Bless America" or "America the Beautiful" at a Curve game this season must come and try out to be considered. Registration for the tryouts will begin at 8:30 a.m.

All individual and instrumental performances will be welcome to come and try out on January 21st. Those individuals or groups that have previously performed at a Curve game also must come back and try out to be considered for the upcoming 2012 season. Tryouts will take place in numerical order and begin at 9 a.m.

A panel of local celebrity judges will judge each performer that attends the tryout session on Saturday, January 21st. The panel will consist of Altoona Mayor Bill Schirf, WTAJ-TV sports reporter Sara Eckert, Central PA Live host Dawn Pellas, WALY radio personality K.C. O'Day, Flight 19 singer Brian Thomas and a member from Chris Vipond and the Stanley Street Band.

For those that cannot make the tryouts on the 21st and still wish to audition, you must send an audio sample of your song rendition to the Curve no later than Wednesday, January 18th.

Audio samples in MP3 format are preferred and can be sent to Elsie Gibney at: egibney@altoonacurve.com
