This week's "Monday's Child" Billy helped me get my bowling arm back in action. This 11 year old from Altoona says he hasn't bowled much, but he sure knew the game. He explained in great detail how a spare is calculated. "On my second try, I roll the ball and knock that last pin down and it's a spare, " explains Billy. In fifth grade at Ebner Elementary, Billy really likes school. "I like math, basically all the subjects, definitely science." He says he'd like to combine all these skills to someday be able to work with his Dad as a mechanic. For now, he's ready to be paired up with a special Big Brother."I'd probably spend time with him and maybe do a few odd projects, ride bikes, throw a football, do whatever he wants to do. " Because this guy is a very caring young man, Billy says he would want to help his Big brother by "hanging out and getting him on the right path." Speaking of paths, Billy was very helpful getting my bowling ball down the alley. Billy, this week's "Monday's Child" who's "smart, intelligent hard-working" For more information on how you can organize a business or community team for Thursday, May 7th's big night of bowling at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center in Altoona head to www.BBBSBlairCounty.org |
