Thursday, Aug 13, 2009 @10:55pm EDT From Spikes reports: (State College, PA) – A near-capacity crowd of 5,504 fans filled Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Thursday night, including the largest walk-up crowd in ballpark history, to see the State College Spikes rebound from a 10-1 loss to take a 10-2 win from the Oneonta Tigers and split a doubleheader. A total 1,357 fans came to the Spikes Box Office on the day of the game for tickets to the doubleheader, the most in franchise history. The previous high was 1,237, set on Opening Day 2009. The total attendance was also the seventh largest in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park history, and marked the second time this season that over 5,500 fans were in attendance for a Spikes game, joining Opening Day in those ranks as well.
