Tuesday, Aug 11, 2009 @10:38pm EDT From Spikes reports: (State College, PA)– The State College Spikes, led by Brock Holt’s homer and four RBI, stormed back from a 4-0 deficit to score nine unanswered run in a 9-4 victory over the Oneonta Tigers on Tuesday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. After yielding four runs in the top of the fourth inning, State College (27-25) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to a two run-double by Craig Parry and an RBI double by Holt. Holt then delivered the signature shot in the game with his sixth home run of the year, a two-run blast to dead center field, to give the Spikes a 6-4 lead. State College would add three more runs over the seventh and eighth innings to solidify the win. Holt ended the game 2-for-4 with his double and homer, adding a sacrifice fly to complete his night. Parry also went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Justin Byler and Ty Summerlin added multi-hit performances for the Spikes. |
