The NHL released it's regular season schedule for the 2009-10 season on Wednesday and the Penguins are slated to open defense of the Stanley Cup at Mellon Arena October 2 against the New York Rangers. In addition, the Pens schedule includes two games against their NHL Finals opponents Detroit. Pittsburgh will host the Red Wings on January 31 and travel to Joe Louis Arena on March 22.
