Reported by: Amy Mearkle Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @02:09pm EST ALEXANDRIA, HUNTINGDON COUNTY -- FFA students held their 2nd Annual "Take Your Tractor to School Day" on Friday, November 6th.
Students could pay $5.00 and collect donations for the privilege of driving their favorite horse-powered machine to school. This year the students raised a little over $250.00. The money is being donated to Juniata Valley High School student Clay Allison. Allison is a Junior at the school and a member of the FFA. Two years ago he was diagnosed with bone cancer. The money will be used to help pay for his trips to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh for his treatments. The students say they enjoy bringing their tractors to school and the fun competition for bragging rights about who has the biggest and best tractor. They also like being able to help one of their fellow students. If you would like to make a donation to the FFA Tractor Day you can do so by calling the Juniata Valley High School.
