The Democrat defeated Republican Incumbent Michael Madeira by an almost two to one margin. With 100% of precincts reporting Parks Miller earned 16,349 votes compared to Madeira's 8,902. At a celebration Tuesday night, Parks Miller said she was humbled by the public's support and said she has a long list of things she feels needs to be accomplished in the office. Voter turnout in the county was a typical 26 percent for an off year election. |
