Police officers in southern Police officers from Around 10:00 Tuesday morning the
owner was checking storage units that no one had returned paperwork on. So he
cut the lock off a storage unit and he was shocked to find an assault rifle and
everything you need to make a bomb inside. He immediately called the police and
they started their investigation. Police pulled out pipes, gunpowder
and a lot of lighter fluid. At this point no charges have been filed against
the 17 and 18 year old boys that owned all of that. And both boys will remain
free until they are. Chief Ronald Givler says they are
consulting with the ATF to see what charges can be filed. It's more complicated
because they had all the pieces to make a bomb, but didn't have an actual bomb. But that's not a big comfort to
neighbors. They say it’s scary to see that kind of thing happening in their
small community. Chief Givler doesn't think the boys planned to hurt anyone. But
what they were doing was dangerous and illegal, and it wasn't the first time. The
boys had made and set off a pipe bomb in the past month in the township. Neighbors
were even more shocked to hear that. Givler says once the investigation
is over they'll talk with the district attorney about filing charges. |
