UNION TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY - The Centre County Coroner ruled the shooting death of a Centre County woman a homicide.

Rachael Perryman, 21 of Port Matilda, was shot and killed on Saturday, October 24th.  Police said she was hunting with her boyfriend at the time.  They were using muzzle-loading rifles at night in the Black Moshannon State Forest.

Accoring to a search warrant, the boyfriend told police that he accidentally shot her after he mistook her for a deer.

Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers said that her death is a homicide.  "This judgment reflects the death of one person at the hands of another but doesn not reflect whether the death is of criminal nature," Sayers wrote in a press release.

State Police are investigating.  Officials haven't said whether or not charges will be filed against her boyfriend.
