Reported by: Dr. John Farneth Monday, Oct 27, 2008 @02:42pm EDT The Great Makeover is off and running. Both Dr. Farneth and Dr. Miller have met with Wendy several times for treatment planning and diagnosis. On her first appointment Dr. Miller and I took all the necessary diagnostic data to come up with a treatment plan for Wendy. We did X-rays, Photos, Health History, and Study models of her mouth. From this data it was decided that due to decay and the malposition of her teeth that it would be best to remove all her remaining teeth and make her implant supported over dentures. Dr. Miller evaluated her facial features to see what cosmetic treatments would enhance Wendy’s face. He decided to propose cheek and chin implants. He also wants to do some laser skin refinement as a final polish to her case. We then brought Wendy in for a second appointment to go over our plan and get her approval. We told her that her treatment will be done in three stages. The first stage will involve tooth removal, implant placement, and immediate dentures. The second phase will involve placing the cheek and chin implants. And, the last and final phase will involve Laser refinement of her face, a beauty makeover with hair and makeup, and a new wardrobe. Wendy agreed to treatment and we took impressions to make her immediate dentures. She will be seeing Dr. Miller next for the extractions and implant placement. Photos and more on her progress to follow. |
One of the newest forms of technology is the Diagnodent Laser.
This laser helps to diagnose and detect tooth decay at its earliest
stages.
