Reported by: Kim Thomas @ yourerie.com Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @10:40pm EST It looks like there will be one newcomer on Erie City Council.
Democrat Jim Winarski has won a seat on council.
Three incumbents up for election this time around will also return. That's current council president Joe Schember, Curtis Jones, Jr., and Jim Thompson. Winarski says he looks forward to working with the administration and other members of city council. He has one issue in particular he'd like to tackle. "Public safety is my number one goal. Between the police and fire, we wanna be a great team, we don't want to condemn them, we want to help them," said Winarski. "There's hiccups once in a while, let's work them out and be a team." Republican Tim Butler was the 5th candidate on this ticket. He came up short to the incumbents and Winarski. |
