  • Bianca Barr

Bianca Barr graduated from Penn State University and began her first job in television at WTAJ in October 1998.

She began behind the scenes as a news producer and then became a reporter in the State College Bureau.  From State College, Bianca headed south to be a reporter and fill-in anchor in Fort Myers, Florida.

Bianca then returned to Pennsylvania to work at WNEP in Scranton as a night-side reporter and weekend anchor.

When the opportunity came around for Bianca to come back to Penn State, she said she just couldn't pass it up.

Bianca is now the senior promotions associate for Penn State Public broadcasting.

"It is just one of those places that I decided was a safe place, a lot of charisma and character and you can't beat the energy that the University puts off, so I decided to make a career change.  Why not do it where I am familiar? Which is here in Centre County and Penn State."

Bianca says she looks back at her first job in TV with fond memories.  She says her mistakes made her a better person and a better reporter.  "I would say the learning curve of my first job is what made WTAJ exciting.  Because I made a lot of mistakes and learned my craft and I made a lot of friends.

It will always be a very important part of my life."
