  • Tom Twine

Tom Twine worked at WTAJ a total of about 15 years.  Most of his time was behind the scenes doing technical work, but he did spend a few years on the air as a weatherman.

Tom now works as a support engineer at Chuck Ferrell's company Newsroom Solutions.

The company provides the computer software and hardware that TV stations need to show school closings and election results across the bottom of your TV screen.

Tom specializes in making sure that information also goes to the TV stations' websites.

Tom says his fondest memory of his time at WTAJ is linked to our crazy central PA weather system. He says blizzards brought co-workers together.

"When I did weather, we went out with a live van and did live shots in the middle of a blizzard and stayed at the station through the blizzard."

Tom married his wife Becky who is a local, so they stayed in the area.

Being in the heart of Penn State country is not easy for this Virginia Tech alumnus, but he accepts it.  He says if the VT Hokies and the Nittany Lions ever have a bowl match up there is no doubt what color he will be wearing.

"That would be maroon, Chicago maroon and burnt orange".
