Reported by: Patrick Schurr Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @06:55am EST ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY-- An ABC network reporter and anchor severely injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq will share his experiences as part of the Penn State Altoona Speaker Series.
Bob Woodruff and his wife, Lee, wrote about his difficult recovery in their book, "In as Instant: A Family's Journey of Love, Courage, and Healing." The Woodruffs are scheduled to speak at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009, in the Devorris Downtown Center in Altoona. Tickets can be bought by calling (814) 949-5091 or stopping by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 1419 Twelfth Avenue in downtown Altoona. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Penn State Altoona Future Fund. That program provides funds to enrich academic and cultural life on campus and in the community. It may also be used to offer emergency scholarship help to students in a financial crisis.
