BUSINESS NEWS - State Officials say nothing has been determined at this time, but they are concerned with the possibility of losing a major manufacturing company and employer. Harley-Davidson officials say the firm could be moving out of Pennsylvania. Company officials say ending production at its York, Pennsylvania plant is possible and would mean that hundreds of jobs would be moved to Shelbyville, Kentucky. Harley-Davidson currently employs 2,500 people at its York plant. The company says it has excess manufacturing capacity and it needs to downsize and consolidate some operations. Economic development officials in Kentucky have been meeting with company officials and offering Harley-Davidson some financial incentives if the company would move additional manufacturing work to that state.
